Today as we all wake up, we find presents waiting for us under the tree. We wake up early because we're so eager to open them! Did we get what we want? What could possibly be in this box I've been shaking for three weeks? Did Santa come and he did eat the cookies I made for him? When will the rest of our family get here to open more presents?
We have become so wrapped up in unwrapping presents that some have completely lost the true meaning of Christmas, the only reason it exists! Today is the day Christ our Lord and Saviour was born. The day that changed the lives of everyone!
This world has turned Christmas from what it should be into what we want it to be. We have become selfish thinking it's just a holiday where we get out of school and get things for ourselves.
We need to step back, even us Christians, and really remember exactly what this day means to us!
Yesterday, my mom gave a homeless man a coat that my dad no longer wore. She made us pull off the side of the road not too far from the bridge he lived under and as I watched her walk over to where that man was sleeping under a blue tarp to hide from the cold wind, I was reminded about how important it is for us to share the love of God. Especially during this Christmas season when the most important thing to do is share God and share his love.
This Christmas has definitely meant more to me than Christmas has in the past. I've finally come to realize the importance of it and I have altered my thinking to where it should be, revolved around Jesus.
Don't let this Christmas be one full of selfishness and greed but one of compassion and love!
Merry Christmas to all
&
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!!!
LOVE YOU!
